There are several tourist attractions here in Pahalgam. If you visit Pahalgam, a visit to Shiva temple called Mamaleswara in the village of Mamal is a must. This temple is believed to be Kashmir’s oldest temple. It is thought to be dated back to the 12^th century. The Baisaran meadow, which is surrounded by pine forests on all sides, is another place worth seeing. It is 5 kilometers from Pahalgam. There are some excellent views over the town and the Lidder valley from this meadow, 5 kilometers from Pahalgam. You could go fishing and raft down the Lidder River. You will need a permit to fish on the Lidder River. Another 11 kilometers away from here will take you to Tulian Lake, which is at a height of 3353 meters. It is covered with ice for the most part of the year. Yet another place to see is Aru. If you are looking for a walk in the day, this pleasant little village of Aru is very interesting. You could also go horse riding up to the Thajwas glacier.

Pahalgam is the place to visit for those interested in outdoor activities such as horse riding, golf, trekking and fishing. You could trek around or you could hire ponies. Other than the above activities one could also partake in the pleasures of ice-hockey, ice-skating and cross country skiing. The best place to go ice-skating would be Srinagar or Pahalgam. Ice-hockey is a team sport played between two teams. These two teams try to maneuver a smooth puck to score goals against the opposing team. Speed and adroitness are the two key factors of this game. You could get a game of Golf at the Pahalgam golf course situated at a height of 2400 meters above sea level. Pahalgam club has a 9-hole golf course that the tourists can avail of.
