The spiritually inclined need not be disappointed as Yercaud has something to offer to them as well. Basically the Shevarayan plateau is a flat topped hill. The view from the acme is wonderful irrespective of the direction. Take a 360 degree turn and the sight will leave you breathless. There are several big and small mountains far and near, while you get a clear view of the plains set amid the Shevaroys and the adjacent hills. You also get a clear view of Nagalur and Yercaud town. Sitting on top of this hill is Shevarayan Temple. Lord Shevarayan is the residing deity of this temple. The idols of Lord Shevarayan and Goddess Kaveri are seen in here. This temple is basically a dim and narrow cave. Lord Shevarayan represents the Hills whereas Goddess Kaveri represents the Kaveri River. Thousands of tribal people participate in a lively event held here once a year in the month of May.

According to the Hindu Pantheon Sri Raja Rajeshwari is said to be the Goddess of all Gods. Worshipping her could make you wealthy, prosperous and be promoted to a higher level of spirituality. In the year 1983, Tirukovilur Thapovanam Srila Sri Gnanananda Giri Swamigals Paramapara Disciple of HH Swami Poornananda Giri founded this temple. It is now succeeded by his son V Sri. The idol of Goddess Sri Raja Rajeshwari is surrounded by a surfeit of Gods in this temple.

A religious society established by St. Don Bosco (1815-1888) owns a retreat here. Don Bosco wanted his spiritual son Salesians to work for the poor youth who had no land. He set up schools, technical institutes, agricultural and trade schools here.
